Cardeo's mission
is to empower consumers, primary care physicians, healthcare
providers, nutriceutical and
pharmaceutical corporates, to launch a
collaborative commitment to reduce, or eventually eliminate, the
nation’s number one killer, heart disease.
Working
with healthcare companies, providers and consumers, Cardeo strives
to eradicate heart disease by increasing public awareness of heart
attack risk factors, and encouraging broad public access to heart
risk testing, early diagnosis, and preventative measures.
The
Cardeo Consumer Expos are a fun way to gather information and
recipes, ask questions about healthy products and foods, and get
tested (cholesterol, Weight/BMI measurements, blood pressure, and
other heart health blood tests).
Cardeo
Healthcare Conferences are focused on the prevention of atherosclerosis, and thus are targeted at
primary care physicians, ob-gyns and
allied healthcare professionals. All healthcare organizations, even
competitors, are invited to participate regardless of the sponsoring
organization.
Cardeo was initiated by a team working
out of the Texas Heart Institute in
Houston. In the summer of 2004, ROI
Ventures, L.P. purchased the rights to Cardeo and developed a plan
to take Cardeo to multiple cities on an annual basis. Cardeo is now
a division of ROI Ventures (www.roi.com), a Houston-based
marketing and strategic management consulting firm. Founded in 1994,
ROI provides custom market research and advisory services to clients
in a broad range of industries and disciplines. The Cardeo and ROI teams are
committed to the mission of “Prevention before Intervention.”

Cardeo Consumer Health Expo is the first of its kind to bring
all five elements of heart health under one roof. Such an
event offers exhibitors an opportunity to promote their
products and services to health conscious consumers of all ages and
backgrounds.
